Review Summary:

This is a wonderful crème brulee scent - minus the pear.

While  I love shopping for ScentSationals in WalMart, my local Wally World sometimes doesn’t carry the scents I’m looking for. The website has quite a bit of variety and tends to keep the seasonal scents in stock, giving me the opportunity to get a wider variety. The scents online are a bit pricier ($2.99/each), but there is free shipping on orders over $50 and there is an outlet section with irregulars and discontinued scents for $1 a pack. (The outlet scents must be ordered in multiples of 5).

I placed an order recently during a 20% off sale. There were soooo many scents I saw online that I didn’t see in my local store that I couldn’t resist! One of the ones I snagged was White Pear Brulee. I love crème brulee scents and blends and this one was unique to me. Here’s the website scent description:

A rich blend of warm vanilla custard, sweetened with a caramelized crust and topped with sugared white pears.

That sounds incredibly scrumptious. The cold sniff was exactly that – scrumptious. It smelled like a caramel-ly, heavy crème brulee scent. I didn’t sniff any pears on cold sniff, so I was hoping for that to come out once melting. While the crème brulee scent was FABULOUS in a 24W electric melter, I never was able to smell any pear. Pear scents tend to be fairly strong and sweet in my opinion, but the crème brulee really overpowered everything. That being said, this scent was rich, buttery and ohhh so good! It permeated a fairly large living area to wrap everything up in it’s caramel-ly goodness. It was not sugary, sticky sweet. Deep and rich and “thick” in the air. Wonderful! It was moderately strong – filled the room but did not run me out of the place. It stayed at that strength for hours. Mmmmm!scentsationals-white-pear-creme-brulee-out

I absolutely loved this scent as a pure crème brulee. The lower star rating is just because I didn’t get any pear notes, which is supposed to be a huge part of this scent. This is definitely one I would buy again but probably not on the website at almost $3 a pop. I’m hoping to see this one in my local store soon.

Happy candle burning ~

  1. I Love Pear – it is one of my fav scents. What a bummer you couldn’t smell the pear on this one. But I’m glad it was still delish just the same
