Review Summary:

This is a delicious, creamy scent that is a dead on ringer for Tres Leches Cake.

Since receiving my order from Pics, Petals & Scents, I’ve been dying to melt something. Anything! After being surrounded by all these goodies, it was just too hard not to start digging in. The date is included on the label on each melt, so I felt pretty safe starting to melt tarts that had an August 2013 pour date on them. First up? Three Milk Cake. Mmmmm! Three Milk Cake (or Tres Leches Cake) is a sponge or butter cake that has been soaked in three kinds of milk (evaporated milk, heavy cream, and condensed milk). Think that sounds good? It is. Oh yeah…it is!

So would this scent be just as good as the cake? Here’s the scent description from the website:

farm fresh milk scaled to culinary perfection, and rich cream cheese icing. A deep comforting milky scent that is not too sweet

The cold sniff was rich and creamy. I thought it smelled sort of like a caramel scent. It was delicious on cold sniff! I melted this tart in a 24W electric melter and it took no time to begin reaping the smell goodness of this scent. It was soooo incredibly mouth-watering! It is deep and rich, very creamy and almost buttery. Like the scent description promised, it is not a sugary sweet scent. But my, oh my, it is good.

The scent throw was moderately strong in a medium sized room. It lasted at that strength for over 5 hours at which time I decided I was ready for a change.

This scent is wonderful and something I would definitely reorder from PP&S. Try it – you may enjoy! pics-petals-scents-three-milk-cake-wax-melt-candle2

  2. I found a great place to buy candles if you want to review them. hardcandycandles.com . Those candles are so much fun. You get a prize in every one. I ordered one about a week ago and got it today and my prize was a 925 silver ring. It is so pretty. Could this be the new cracker jack box? lol

  4. Hi illiot, Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll go take a look. It seems like these jewelry candles are popping up everywhere. I remember when there was just one company, now there are over a dozen or more.

  5. That sounds so good. How do you know if you have to hold the tarts to let them cure? And how long to you hold them?

    • From my experience, wax melts made with soy do better with a little cure time. I tend to let all of my melts cure by default, though, because I don’t get to new things right away. If I am deliberately waiting on something to cure, I generally wait about 2 weeks.
