Let’s talk about a couple of my favorite things…Scentsy and their masculine scents. Yessir, that is right! I tap into my masculine side and I make a beeline to the section of my new Scentsy catalogs that have Scentsy Man fragrances. In case you have not noticed, man candles are hot! If you missed the Yankee Candle video on this topic, check it out here.
I love melting the robust guy scents in the fall and winter, but they are usually too heavy for warmer weather. Always on the lookout for a manly summer scent, I tried Route 66. Bingo! A subtle scent suited for the summer weather!
The scent description from Scentsy is an exhilarating breeze of citrus, herbs and musk. My nose picks up citrus that finishes with those spicy herbs. I am not so sure I smell the musk though. The scent has a clean smell with the citrus, sort of that stepped out of the shower smell, great when the thermometer is pushing ninety degrees! The bar is scored into 8 cubes – I usually use two. Route 66 scented a medium size room moderately – just right for summer, but I would probably use more cubes for a stronger scent in the cooler weather.
Scentsy seems to be a little more expensive that some tarts, but I compared one bar (2.6 oz. for $5, versus Yankee’s tarts at $1.99 for .8 oz. Um… get out that calculator, you may be surprised!) The quality is high – the melters are absolutely gorgeous! I have more than I will ever need. And, look at the “combine and save” packs, that is what I do to help the wax budget a bit.
I think the trick in enjoying your Scentsy products is finding a good consultant. Since these are not sold at a store and are sold through a consultant or through a Scentsy party, finding an enthusiastic consultant that knows your scent preferences, gives you a heads up when sales are coming – and for a bonus – can send you samples of the scent of the month makes purchasing Scentsy products more fun. Even my mail lady loves the days I get the samples – her vehicle smells great all day!
Happy candle burning ~
