Review Summary:

A sweet, fruity scent that smells more of Kool-Aid than cider.

One thing I love about ScentSationals wax melts (besides the cheap price) is the variety. They seem to always have something fresh and new coming out. I picked out Plum Cranberry Cider while shopping online during one of their 20% off sales. Talk about a great deal!

The packaging for this wax melt was burgundy and gold with cranberries and an apple scattered in the background. The wax was a deep red color. The packaging read: A new twist on a warm holiday fragrance. Here’s the scent description from the website:

Warm the soul with the scent of a classic holiday favorite. The warm, sweet aroma of harvest fruits and spice.

On cold sniff, this smelled like Kool-Aid. It was sugary and smelled of sweet berries. I didn’t smell any spices or warmth. It was the same once melting – an enjoyable, fruity scent, but I was expecting more of a cider-y feel to it. It was moderately strong and filled an open living space with scent. Overall very nice…just not what I expected. I don’t think this will be a repurchase for me. I used this wax melt in a combo of 24W melters and bulb melters with a 40W bulb.

  1. Too bad it wasn’t what you expected! I tend to like the cranberry and pomegranate cider scents. A little tart sweet smell with the spice

    • I know, Amy. I’ve been pleased with the majority of the melts from ScentSationals, though. I like different twists to cider scents, but I want to be sure to smell the cider, too. Pomegranate with cider sounds good!
