Review Summary:

A rich, warm scent that is heavy on the rum with a splash of cinnamon.

I’ve been dying to try the new wax melts from Goose Creek Candles and I finally had my chance. The new melts not only have a new shape, but they also are made with a new wax formulation (referred to as Aromatic+). The new wax melts are supposed to have stronger scent throws and be longer lasting.

This particular wax melt scent was Maple Toddy. One thing that surprised me about the wax melt was the size – it was a large, round disc with a snap on lid. The bottom of the container is divided up into sections, which divided the wax melt goose-creek-candles-maple-toddy-meltinto pieces. The top lid had a label that showed the picture of a teacup full of liquid, presumably this delicious toddy. The wax was slightly softer and definitely creamier than the old wax melts. The wax was a soft brown color.

The scent of Maple toddy is concocted with the sweet notes of buttery toasted pecans, dark rum, and cinnamon sticks.

I loved the individual pieces and the fact that the whole wax “disc” was so easy to break apart and use. The cold sniff was delicious – rich and slightly sweet maple and cinnamon notes. I broke this wax melt up and dividing it among melters in my living area (40W bulb melters and 24W electric melters) and it did not take very long for scent to start permeating the air. It was sooooo delicious! This scent was warm and somewhat sweet. The rum made goose-creek-candles-maple-toddy-melts-brokenthis a heavy scent but pleasantly so. The cinnamon was present but definitely in the background…it blended well with the other notes. After I had this melting for a while, the nuttiness became more prominent.

This scent was strong and delicious. This is a scent I could see myself purchasing over and over again. Yum-mo!

Happy candle burning ~
