Review Summary:

A strong, pure apple scent.

I love apple scents and was happy to find Macintosh Apple from ScentSationals. I’m having a love affair with these ScentSationals wax melts lately and this one seemed like it would reinforce that relationship. The clamshell package was adorned in red and had some pictures of apples in the background. The wax itself was a pretty, deep red color. The cold sniff was fairly strong and smelled just like a juicy, red apple.

The packaging states “An apple a day…” The website has a full scent description available:

Red, crispy and full of flavor, Macintosh apples ripe from the tree explode with the sweet aroma of refreshing fruit.

I melted this clamshell in my large, open living area and it is a good thing that I did. This was a fairly strong scent! I started smelling the aroma of fresh apples before I finished distributing the melts in my melters. I used both 24W electric melters and bulb melters (in which I use 40W bulbs). The aroma was that of pure-dee-apple. No cinnamon. No spice. No sugary stickiness. Just fresh, juicy apple. Mmmmm, good! scentsationals-macintosh-apple-wax-melts-candles

This wax melt threw for hours on end and filled my living area, so I’d say the scent strength was strong. It was not overpowering, though. I never felt the need to turn any of the melters off. I think if I were using it in a smaller space, though, I’d need to scale it back to one or two cubes at most.

I loved this wax melt and will purchase it again when I’m in the mood for just a pure apple scent.

Do you like apple scents? If so, what is your favorite pure apple scent?

  1. As a matter of fact Andrea I do love apple scents. Front Porch makes a pretty good Granny Smith sugared apple. It has just enough sweetness to cut the tart Granny Smith scent. Scentsationals is one of my favorite brands out there. Lets face it, for the price point you just can’t beat it with a stick!! How many cubes of the clamshell do you use at one time in each warmer? I normally use 1-2 and that seems like enough for my space.

    • I agree, Carolyn. Love ScentSationals! I’ll have to try the Front Porch scent – you’ve intrigued me. I generally use 3 cubes in individual melters in my bedrooms or bathrooms. I have 4 melters spread out in my front living space and usually divi up the entire clamshell for that area.

  2. I have never purchased pure apple scents. I prefer an apple fragrance to be an apple pie or an apple cider.

  4. That scent sounds so heavenly! I adore apple scents. I love those clamshells because I can melt just one cube in my office at work so I don’t overpower everyone 🙂

    • That’s a good idea, Amy. I have a hard time finding something for the office. I’ll have to give one cube of these melts a try!
