I recently melted one of my wax melts from Ava’s Country Cupboard called Lemon Cheesecake. This was a sample she generously included with my order. This was a cute, heart-shaped grubbied up wax melt packaged in a cello bag. The yellow color of the wax went with the lemon scent. I happen to LOVE lemon scents. Cheesecake? Not so much. But that didn’t deter me from pulling out this cutie to try.
sweet, creamy cheesecake with lemon zest
The cold sniff was really nice – tart and lemony. I felt like I was off to a good start! I ended up melting this tart in one of my bulb warmers (I use a 40W bulb) in a medium sized room. It took only about 15 minutes for this wax melt to start filling that room and beyond. It was a tart lemony smell with some creaminess to it to keep it from being too harsh. It was also just a little sweet. Seeing as how this was a cheesecake scent, I would have liked to smell some crust – but I didn’t. To be fair, the scent description doesn’t mention the crust scent at all. That was just my assumption (and we all know what happens when we assume…).
This was a moderately strong wax melt and it lasted several hours in my bulb warmer. Although I am not a cheesecake fan, this is a scent I would purchase again. I think the deliciousness of the lemon is what really sold me on this one!
This grubby heart tart came as a part of my sampler that I ordered. I see that online you can get an 8 pack of grubby hearts in your scent of choice, with each heart weighing about 1 oz each. As of this writing, the 8 pack is being sold for $8.95 per bag. Not bad! You can also buy a two-pack of grubby hearts for $2.50/pack. And there are many other tart options available.
Do you like cheesecake scents? Which are your favorites?
