I love most apple scents. I know a lot of people that don’t care for them, but I happen to adore them. I find most apple based scents to be fairly strong, so I tend to try them out from just about every company I where I place an order. I recently bought Apple Cider from Goose Creek Candles during their wax melt sale. They only offer clamshell wax melts – also not a problem for me. The scent description for Apple Cider on the website is:
The warm blend of cinnamon, cider, and clove leading to a delightful vanilla spice.
Another description that is available once going directly to the wax melt page is this:
This heartwarming blend of spice and citrus begins with bitter orange peel, tangerine, apple and sweet peach. The heart blend cinnamon cider and clove leading to a delightful vanilla spice.
The second description certainly sounds more complex. My cold sniff didn’t reveal all those different notes to me. I did detect some apple and cinnamon, which was pleasant. The cold throw was light which surprised me given the apple and the spices.
Melting this scent, I did get a warm apple scent with cinnamon and clove nicely mixed in. It did smell a lot like a cup of hot apple cider! But while I give it an A for authenticity, I have to give it about a C for scent throw. It just wasn’t strong enough – especially for an apple based scent. I didn’t get any citrus or peach notes from this wax melt. Unfortunately, this scent won’t be a repurchase for me. At least not in wax melt form. I might try the candles because I do love the scent itself!
Do you have a scent you love but you just wish it were stronger?
Happy candle burning ~
