I picked up an Almond Sugar wax melt from Febreze during one of my recent WalMart shopping trips. I didn’t see a wide array of options yet for these in my local store, but Almond Sugar was one that was calling my name. These wax melts come in a long, rectangular package with six strips of wax (as opposed to the typical cubes you see with clamshell melts). The amount of wax in these clamshells is slightly more than in the conventional clamshell melts – these have 2.75 ounces of wax vs. 2.5 ounces with melts from ScentSationals or BH&G. The price point was $2.99.
With Almond Sugar, smooth vanilla combines with sweet almond notes and soft sugary caramel.
The color for the top lid was primarily brown with a pic in the background almond closeups. The wax color was ivory. The cold sniff was light but it smelled good – nutty and slightly sweet. I used one of these wax bars in a 24W electric melter in my small powder room. I returned about a half hour later to very little scent throw. The scent was delicious – it was almost like a sweet cookie scent. The almond was good and not cherry-ish, which I hate. However, I could barely smell it. Total bummer! I am used to almond scents being pretty strong, so this was a total disappointment.
I tried 2 of the bars in a bulb melter (with a 40W bulb) in a medium size room. The scent throw improved but was still fairly light. It was more of a background scent – I knew it was there but that was about all.
I really enjoyed the scent itself, so I might try one of their candles in this particular scent.
Happy candle burning ~
