Stash Secrets Sunday: Yankee Candle Melt Cups & More

I have been loving my Yankee Candle Scenterpiece and Easy MeltCups for my office. I’ve found it a perfect way to scent up the space without a flame and without being overbearing for my neighbors. I recently stocked up on a few scents, as well as a handful of other items. It was during this order that I purchased the Ivory Leela Scenterpiece and Easy MeltCups that I am giving away this month! (Continue reading below to see how to enter to win!)

Website: Yankee Candle

Location: South Deerfield, MA (headquarters)

Indie? No

The Wallet Says: $$$$$

This is the entire order, minus the prize items I purchased. I bought a total of 12 Easy MeltCups, one of the new Homefront Girl candles, and a candle from the new Barbershop Collection.

Berrylicious (Sheer ecstasy. . . ripe, juicy blueberries on a bed of creamy vanilla icing is the perfect dessert topping) – Oh my, this one smells good cold! It’s a deep berry scent with some bakery notes mixed in. It smells like a blueberry cobbler on cold sniff to me. It’s really strong, too.

Silver Birch (Autumn is in the air. . . the slight crispness of an early fall breeze mingles with the spicy dryness of just-turning leaves) – I’ve already reviewed this scent as a votive before. I happen to love this outdoorsy scent. It’s clean and crisp without being overly piney.

Lavender Vanilla (An oasis of tranquility . . . the perfect mix of fresh lavender and warm vanilla with musk and bergamot) – I can barely smell this one on cold sniff. I hope that’s not a sign! It does smell good, though. It’s a pretty floral with enough musk to keep it from being too much for me.

Lemon Lavender (Soothing and sweet lavender comes together with tangy lemon citrus to create a powdery fresh blend that’s clean and inviting. The combination of two classic fragrances offers lavender lovers the opportunity to enjoy the flower’s coveted scent in a fresh, new way. The candle’s soft purple color tones also offer up new opportunities for freshening up your home décor.) – This one is wonderful! It’s a great mix of floral and citrus – very clean and crisp. It has a strong cold sniff. I have also reviewed this as a votive before.

Lilac Blossoms (An alluring grove of lavender, white, and deep purple lilacs) – Very pretty and very floral! This smells like I stuck my nose in a lilac bush…soooo realistic! It has a great cold sniff, too.

Pineapple Cilantro (Give yourself up to the refreshing surprise of this tropical treat. Fresh island pineapple served with a citrus touch of cilantro and sweet coconut is a bit like sipping a tropical drink al fresco. The experience encourages you to escape the mundane – if ever so briefly – and enjoy the soothing sensation of sitting on a tropical beach. Even the pineapple fragrance’s unexpected soft leaf green color plays into the desire to escape the ordinary) – I love this scent in candle and wax melt form, so it was not a surprise that I really liked the cold sniff on this MeltCup. It smells mostly of juicy pineapple, but the sharpness from the cilantro definitely comes through. The scent in this MeltCup is moderately strong on cold sniff. I’ve reviewed the YC travel tin in this scent before. Great scent!

Vanilla Cupcake (The rich, creamy aroma of vanilla cupcakes with hints of lemon and lots of buttery icing come to life in the distinctive, true-to-life fragrance of this scented candle. Just like those baked treats that fill your home with their delicious aroma, the notes of vanilla, lemon and buttery icing combine beautifully for a long lasting fragrance you will savor) – This one smells mostly like sweet, creamy frosting to me. I get very little cake notes. It smells good to me, but I was expecting more cupcake than I’m smelling cold. It’s moderately strong on cold sniff. Although I was disappointed with the candle in this scent, I’m hoping for better results with the MeltCup.

Pink Sands (Treat yourself to an exotic island escape with the beautiful mix of bright citrus, sweet florals and spicy vanilla in this scented candle. The perfect scent for escaping the winter blues or setting just the right mood any time of the year. The beautifully blended scents of the islands will captivate you and bring memories of favorite vacations rushing back) – This is such a pretty fragrance to me. I’m glad I snatched one up in the MeltCup to try. It’s pretty and floral, and I think I smell some coconut on cold sniff. The cold sniff is fairly light, though.

Luau Party (Join the celebration . . .every day is a festival with the fun and fruity mix of orange fizz, sparkling peach, and vanilla ice) – Hmmm…I’m not so sure on this one. It smells like orange soda to me, and it’s on the light side. The wax melt was good, though, so I’ll see what I think about the MeltCup.

Cotton Candy (The scent of this boardwalk favorite is perfectly captured in all its pure, sticky sweet delight) – This scent smells JUST like cotton candy. How do they do that? It’s incredible. I love it, but…it’s very light on cold sniff. Ugh. I’m hoping the throw is OK once warmed.

Citrus Tango (Time to shake things up with this lively, playful melody of sunny orange, lemon zest, and grapefruit) – Wow, this is great! It’s like a fizzy fruit cocktail drink. Tangy but enough sweetness to keep it from being too harsh. It has a great cold sniff throw.

Home Sweet Home (A heartwarming blend of cinnamon, baking spices, and a hint of freshly poured tea) – Easily one of my all time favs from YC, this scent is not disappointing in the MeltCup form. It’s warm and cozy and spicy. It’s on the light side on cold sniff, though. I’m hoping it has a good throw once warmed.

Blurry photos…I know. I’m so ashamed. I’ll snap more worthy photos once I actually review these products. Meanwhile, you can get a better look at them on the top photo.

Watermelon Splash (This cool Independence Day favorite is a reminder of bold American spirit) – Mmmm, wonderful! This smells really sweet, more like watermelon flavored candy than the actual fruit. Still, I love it and it’s fairly strong on cold sniff. Aside from that, I love the label and look of the jar itself.

Hot Towel (This pleasantly soothing combination of sea salt breeze and white woods is a refreshing indulgence. Our exclusive Barbershop Collection candle, perfect for Father’s Day, features an opaque black glass jar, matte finish silver tone top, and linen white wax) – I like this one. I was hoping it would not be overly masculine, and it’s not at all. It is a little flowery and soapy – very clean and pretty. I don’t smell any woodsiness on cold sniff. It’s moderately strong, too. The jar is gorgeous – black and with with a “foot.” Nice!
