Tara’s Candle Cottage is one of my absolute favorite places to shop. Great products, a wide array of scents available, and excellent customer service. Plus she has awesome sales! Here’s a peek at some of my latest acquisitions. I’ve marked my favorites from this order (based on cold sniff) by an *. None of these pictures are the best – I was in a hurry and there was a bunch to shoot. 😉

The Wallet Says: $$
I ordered all 6 packs of the 1 ounce scallops. Here’s what one of them look like. They were all packaged in cello baggies with cute hearts on them.
This one is *Balsam & Cedar (A camphoraceous woody blend of pine, eucalyptus, cedarwood; finished with sweet balsam. This fragrance is composed of top notes of orange, raspberry, and plum; middle notes of lily, carnation, and hyacinth; base notes of balsam, pine, eucalyptus, and cedarwood.) – Incredible! Woodsy and fresh at the same time. Very strong cold sniff.
The other scent notes down below don’t match up with the pictures. I just wanted to break up the text with some eye candy in between.
50 Shades of Pink (70% Cake Batter Ice Cream, 25% Birthday Cake, 5% Pink Sugar~Christina B.) – Niiice. I’m smelling quite a bit of the PS even though there’s only 5% in the mix. Creamy and sweet. Moderately strong.
5000 Calories (50% Toasted Marshmallow, 20% Chocolate Chip Cookies, 30% Birthday Cake. ~Christina B.) – Gooey and sweet. I like this one because I can even smell the hint of chocolate from the chocolate chips. Moderately strong.
6AM at The Bakery (35% Birthday Cake. 35% Buttercream, 30% Sugar Cookies~Cherrie F.) – Warm, heavy, and sweet. This may have just a bit more buttercream in it than I like. Moderately strong.
Apples & Oats (no scent description found) – Mmmm, nice. Red delicious apple with the warmth of oats. Moderately strong cold sniff.
*Birthday Cake (A special treat for any sweet tooth! Indulge in the aroma of freshly baked cake straight from the oven. Blended with rich vanilla, pure cane sugar, and topped with a smooth and creamy white frosting.) – One of my favorite scents from here. I love Tara’s B-day Cake scent. You can smell the sweet cake and the buttery frosting…it’s so delicious! And it blends well with other scents.
*Blooming Tulips (Smells like Fresh Spring Tulips.) – Fresh floral. I even smell the greenery here. Loooove this. Good scent strength.
Bora Bora (The tropical Pacific island of Bora Bora in the territory of French Polynesia is arguably the most beautiful island on the planet. Its tropical climate boasts lush greenery, expansive coral reefs, and a large, stunning lagoon. Celebrating and honoring this cherished isle, our Bora Bora fragrance blends sweet pineapple, acai berry, mango zest, tart passion fruit, yuzu zest, green apple, orchid leaves, and musky nuances.) – More fruity than I expected (I wanted a little more floral and green). Still, very good – I smell mostly the acai berry and pineapple on cold sniff. Moderately strong.
Buttercream (The aroma of buttery, buttercream frosting with hints of vanilla.) I bought this for the sake of completeness, but I’m not wild about this Buttercream scent. It is creamy, but I get an almost-sour note on end whiff that is off putting to me. Still, I do like blending this with other scents. This is on the softer side as far as scent strength.
Cactus & Sea Salt (Shimmering green cactus mingled with ocean air, sea spray, driftwood and sea moss come together to give you a very unique spa like scent.) – Very spa like. Green with woodsy notes. Soft and pretty.
*Cake Batter Ice Cream (no scent description found) – Yummy! Very creamy and sweet. I smell lots of vanilla in this. This one is on the softer side as far as cold sniff.
Cinnamon Sticks (no scent description found) – All about the cinnamon here. Very spicy and strong.
Cinnamon Twist (Our blend of Cinnamon & Vanilla. Sweet & Spicy.) – Nice blend. The touch of vanilla smooths out the cinnamon to keep it from being harsh. More spicy than sweet.
Cool River (This is a duplication of cool water for men. Cool Water is classified as a refreshing, spicy, lavender, ambery fragrance.) – Masculine, cologne-y. I get more of the freshness and some green notes, less spicy. A very good dupe.
Cornbread (Southern style cornbread at its finest – just like grandma used to make!) – Smells just like a piece of buttermilk cornbread. No sweetness to this one. Strong and good!
Cotton Candy (Just like Cotton Candy at your local county fair. A blend of fresh strawberry and French Vanilla. Very yummy! ) – This was stronger on cold sniff than I expected. I smell mostly the strawberry, but it’s wrapped in enough vanilla to smooth it out for me. (I’m not crazy about strawberry scents.)
Creme Brulee (A rich dessert of cream, caramelized sugar, and a hint of vanilla.) – Heavy and rich. Lots of brown sugar on cold sniff. Strong.
*Cucumber Melon (The aroma of sweet cucumber with a background of sweet, freshly sliced honeydew melon.) – A classic. This is sweet and dewy, fresh and juicy. Love it! Moderately strong cold sniff.
Fresh Cut Grass (no scent description found) – This one is fresh and green, but this particular FCG is a little more on the perfumey side than I like. At least on cold sniff. I’m hoping it mellows out a bit once warmed. It is a stronger scent.
Fruit Punch (A delightful & refreshing mix of citrus, melons, apples and pears. Very yummy.) – Yummy, indeed! Sweet and fruity, but not candy-like sweet. It really does smell like a glass of fruit punch! Moderately strong on cold sniff.
Fruity Loops (Compare to Fruity Rings with the flavor of Fruit Loops cereal.) – Sugary, sweet, and fruity. Just like the cereal. Nice scent strength on cold sniff.
Grandma’s Swingin’ Eggnog (A classic holiday drink that is rich and creamy with eggs, sugar, milk, cream and light rum.) – Meh. I’m not in love with this on cold sniff. It is creamy and slightly sweet. I don’t get enough of the rum for my nose. Milder cold scent sniff.
*Island Fresh Gain (Compare to the smell of Gain Island Fresh laundry detergent. Smells just like an ocean breeze on a tropical island. Fresh ozony top notes, followed by fresh greenery, lavender, vanilla, rose , jasmine, and melon, with bottom notes of fresh air. One of the freshest scents we have ever smelled!) Oh yeah. That’s the stuff. This is so fresh and clean, bursting with scent! I love it and can’t wait to try it in the laundry room! Strong!
*Lollipops (no scent description found) – What a fun scent! Stronger than I anticipated. It is sweet and fruity, very much candy-like. Love it!
Mountain Waters (no scent description found) – This one is OK. It’s a little soapy with some ozone notes. Fresh. Moderately strong.
*Sea Kelp (An upscale spa-type scent that is fresh, clean, and full of salty ozone.) – This is the type of scent I most often associate with ozone. Classic, slightly perfumey, definitely a fresh scent. I agree with the spa-type designation. Milder cold scent sniff. Very pretty!
Sea Side (Tender beach floras are lightly misted with the refreshing scent of ocean air, ripe succulent summer melon and the subtle familiar scent of suntan lotion.) – This was slightly sweet with light floral notes on top. I didn’t smell any suntan lotion or ozone. It still smelled good. Milder cold sniff.
*Sweet Potato & Brown Sugar (Nothing smells more like “home” than warm sweet potatoes with a sprinkle of brown sugar and tiny marshmallows! Features notes of mashed sweet potato, creamy milk, squash puree, brown sugar, freshly ground nutmeg, cinnamon sticks, vanilla extract, melted butter, rum, and a hint of maple sugar.) – Totally in love with this one, and I can see this as a great blender. It is heavy on the brown sugar. It smells like a sweet potato casserole, complete with the marshmallow topping and brown sugar crust. Yummo! Strong one.
*Tobacco Flower (Delectable creamy vanilla and dark brown sugar mix together with smoky tobacco and mahogany woods.) – I was most excited to try this and I’m glad I did! Smoky, warm, sexy, and slightly sweet. Wonderful! It is moderately strong.
White Clouds (A very fresh clean airy smelling fragrance.) – Very clean. This smelled sort of like a fresh cotton or clean linen scent.
My freebies included two 1 ounce scent shots – one Birthday Cake and one *Raspberry Drizzle Cake (50% Raspberry Zinger, 50% Birthday Cake~Christina B.). Loooove the RDC – the sweet birthday cake scent I love with like a raspberry sauce drizzled on top.
Overall, very pleased with my TCC order (as usual). I can’t wait to start diving in. I’ll have to sit on my hands, because she does have a Super Bowl sale planned for today.
