It seems I have an endless supply of material for this Stash Secrets feature. Today, I’m sharing a not-so-recent order from Dessa’s Homespun Scents, one of my new found places I adore. I’m just now getting around to unpacking it, so I thought I’d snap a few photos. The quality of the photos isn’t that great, but I’m lazy and didn’t want to reshoot or tinker too much. 😉
Website: Dessa’s Homespun Scents
Location: Gilbert, Arizona
The Wallet Says: $$$$$
This is the entire order. I order the 18 pack, which sold for $30. I ordered 2 each of 9 different scents. When I find a place I like, I try to get around to sampling every scent they have to offer. I started at the top of her scent list for this order. She included 3 full sized samples! Those are in the front of the two stacks.
Apple Harvest: Apple picking season is upon us. Bushels of juicy ripe apples picked fresh from the orchard. Lovely! Smells like a bushel of juicy apples. This one is pretty strong.
Apple Cinnamon (listed as Apples & Cinnamon on website): Fresh out of the oven baked apples slices generously topped with spicy ground cinnamon. Heavier on the cinnamon than the apple. Nice and strong.
Apple Pumpkin Streusel: Hot piping homemade apple pie blended with Pumpkin Ginger Streusel. Sweet and delicious! A Homespun Original House Blend. Oooh, I wanted to like this one. This smelled like an apple pie filling with some creaminess to it. Not as strong as the other two in this bunch, but good nonetheless.
Apple Zucchini Bread: Homemade apple pie & spicy fresh zucchini bread. A Homespun Original House Blend. Zucchini Bread with a sweetness to it. Strong and good.
Aspen Winter: This festive blend captures the essence of winter. Fresh fallen snow, shimmering pine, crisp bay leaf, warm winter woods & cinnamon. A B&BW “Winter” type duplication. Fresh, cool, pine-y. Very strong.
Autumn Breeze: Wisps of brisk air, crisp leaves, notes of pine, cedar, aspen, forest berries, sage, and clove. Very nice. On cold sniff, this reminded me of Leaves from B&BW. Strong.
Autumn Pear: Fresh juicy pear slices lightly sprinkled with warm spices of nutmeg, cinnamon and a splash of creamy vanilla. Mmm, good pear scent mix. The spices tone down the sweetness of the pear. Moderately strong.
Banana Nut Bread: Freshly baked and loaded with fresh bananas, brown sugar, nuts and a touch of ginger. Oh, my, my. Easily my favorite of the bunch. This smells just like a banana bread muffin fresh out of the oven, as you break it open and take a whiff. Seriously good! Strong.
Blackberry Jam Sugar Cookies: Fresh buttery sugar cookies topped with a dollop of sweet blackberry jam. A Homespun Original House Blend. I love this scent from just about everywhere. Typical BJSC scent, smells good. Moderately strong.
Three full-sized samples. Cool!
Apple Crumble: Home baked sweet apples sprinkled with cinnamon and vanilla and layered with a sweet buttery crunchy crumble topping. This smells like an apple pie filling to me. It’s totally yummy. Strong.
Autumn Campfire: The essence of fall – cinnamon, cloves, pumpkin pie, warmed apples, gingerbread, hot cider and a touch of marshmallow toasted over a campfire. A Homespun Original House Blend. Very smoky and warm. Nice. Moderately strong.
Hot Buttered Rum: A comforting scent on a cold winter night. Warm vanilla, hot buttery rum, and accents of spice. Now this is what I look for in HBR! This scent is heavy on the rum notes. Super strong. I love it!
My favorite from this order would have to be Banana Nut Bread, followed closely by Hot Buttered Rum. I didn’t have one in the bunch that I didn’t care for, which is a huge plus. I see a lot more scents added to the scent list since I’ve ordered, and now there are grubby melts available. I can’t wait to melt these and do some more shopping! 🙂
