Flavor Of The Week: Volcano from Capri Blue

Walk into any Anthropologie store and you just might smell the wonderful aroma of Volcano from Capri Blue. It was in an Anthropologie store that I first got my Volcano fix and I’ve been hooked ever since. I LOVE this scent! Capri Blue candles are fun and beautiful, a bit pricey but certainly not out of reach. I’ve been working my way around to trying all the scents available, but my absolute favorite is Volcano.

Here’s how the website describes this scent:

tropical fruits and sugared citrus

So short and sweet for such a complex scent! This candle packs a punch as far as scent throw and the scent itself is absolutely delicious. I love citrus scents and this is a cornucopia of citrus scents. There is a blast of sweet and tangy with some underlying green notes. It is fabulous! While it is a strong scent, it is not overpowering. I can smell it throughout the lower level of my home when it’s burning, but I never feel “choked” by the scent. My only complaint with this candle (and many other Capri Blue candles) is that there is a lot of wasted wax. The candle burns unevenly to say the least. I may just try the foil trick I learned about in a YouTube video to see if that makes a difference.

Visit Capri Blue to find Volcano and many other delicious scents.

Happy candle burning ~

  1. Hi Andrea!

Just now finding your blog post (my apologies!), but I thought I could provide some insightful info on how to burn our large jars. Capri Blue large jars are meant to be burned for long periods of time. Every time the candle is lit, it needs to completely liquify before the flame is extinguished. Due to the wide neck and shape of the jar, this can take anywhere from 4-6 hours. If the candle is blown out before then, it increases the chances of wasted wax. For people who don’t want to burn a candle all day, I would recommend trying our printed tin or tumbler size. The diameter of those are much smaller, and they come in Volcano too!

    Hope this helps!
