Review Summary:

Strong, fragrant and fruity

I’ve admired Fresh candles from afar – they have an understated elegance that I have always been drawn to. Since Fresh was having a sale, I decided to take the plunge and purchase one of their candles. The scent Sake seemed to have pretty rave reviews, so that’s the one I went for. It came packaged in a white gift box that has the company name and scent name on a circular label on the front. Opening the box, I first saw the dull, bronze lid. The candle itself was wrapped delicately in white tissue paper and unwrapping it was like unwrapping a present. I can tell you…from opening the box to unwrapping the candle, I could already smell the fragrance. And it was good. It was very, very good.

The candle jar held 7.5 ounces of a white, fragranced wax with a single wick. The jar had the intricate Fresh logo on front of it in gray coloring. Simple but beautiful. The cold sniff? Oh my. I smelled peaches…juicy peaches. It was incredibly refreshing!

An intoxicating blend of peach nectar, mandarin, and Chinese osmanthus that fills the room with a lush sensual fragrance

Since this was a small candle, I started it in my powder room. I left it and closed the door. It was approximately 15 minutes later that I began to detect this fruity aroma coming from the powder room. This candle! I went in after about half an hour and I was pleased to see this candle already formed a full wax melt pool. The flame was dancing and this beauty was putting out scent. Lots of scent! I smelled mostly the peaches. So realistic and so fruity, it was as if I was smelling the peach fuzz, too. Ah-may-zing!!! There were also some soft floral undernotes that helped make this a unique scent and very, very fresh. I’m not sure I ever picked out the mandarin individually. It didn’t matter, though. This candle scent was fantastic!

fresh-sake-candle-topThe candle burn was good. There was NO wasted wax whatsoever. I got a full melt pool in a matter of minutes and the flame was tall but steady. I did snuff this candle out every couple of hours to tame the flame, but that was probably overkill. The flame never even remotely looked like it was going to get out of hand. The scent strength was strong – for the powder room, it was sheer perfection. It filled that room with incredible scent and even beyond! I also tried this candle out in an open area and it performed incredibly well for such a small sized candle. Impressive!

This was as close to candle perfection that I can imagine…a definite repurchase for me. I’m so happy I tried this little gem and I can’t wait to try other Fresh candles.

Have you burned any candles from Fresh? If so, what are you favorites?

Happy candle burning ~

  1. I have never heard of Fresh Candles before. Your review was fantastic. From the photo alone I could tell this was a delicate yet impressive candle. I liked the understated elegance in the white wax and clear cylinder the candle was in. This is a product I would definitely ad to my list of new vendors to try.

  2. I have never burned Fresh candles before but it is something I have been curious about. I am totally in love with their sake bath so when I can get fresh on sale that is what I go for as it is $$$.

  3. I never knew that Fresh made candles…wow! I have heard of the Sake scent as it is a popular duplication scent with one of my favorite bath and body etailers. I have been wanting to try it and this article has convinced me to do just that the next time I make an order(Black Friday hopefully!). This candle from Fresh is so elegant looking, but is a tidge expensive for me to buy. I do, however, appreciate reading how nice it is.

    • It’s a great candle, Pam. I’m hoping they have a sale so I can try their Brown Sugar candle.
