Where Burned: Powder room (6′ x 6.5′) and Laundry room (8′ x 9′)

Great For: Christmas; New Years celebrations/gifts; Holidays; Winter; People who like fruity scents

Comments: I purchased this product at a sample sale site, One Kings Lane.

Would I repurchase? No. Although I enjoyed the scent, I wasn’t wow’ed enough to make a repurchase.

Rating Breakdown:

  • Packaging/Presentation: This was a festive red box with a silver scrolling pattern on it. In the center was a red label with the scent name ‘Mistletoe’ in large letters. This same label was found on the clear glass jar. The jar was a heavy glass with a thick bottom – nice quality. The wax was white and there was a single wick in the center. 4/5
  • Scent: This was a fruity type of scent, which I did not expect. I didn’t smell any pine or tree notes. I smelled a mix of fruits like pomegranate, some citrus, maybe a little cranberry. There was a distinct spice note that lingered over the top. It reminded me of anise. I’m not quite sure of the exact mix, but it was a very enjoyable scent. 4/5
  • Scent Throw: This relatively small candle had a very good scent throw. It completely filled the powder room and beyond. It filled the laundry room and I could smell it a little past the closed door. Not super strong but impressive. 4/5
  • Performance: I had a hard time getting a full wax melt pool on this candle. I ended up with a small ring of wax left in the jar. The wick needed to be trimmed frequently on this one. This was a slow burning candle and I got about 50 hours of burn time from it. 3.5/5
  • Customer Service (if applicable): N/A
  • Overall rating: 3.5/5 (Technically 3.8 but rounded down for performance.)

Disclosures: None. I purchased this product myself.

Happy candle burning ~

  1. I’ve never tried this vendor. I have heard of Archaeolog before and have heard some pretty good things. I have tried just last week a candle from Anthropology. I’m not sure what scent it was since it wasn’t written anywhere. It was in a red holder and the wax was a creamy color. It didn’t have a good throw cold or hot. All I could smell was a very light grapefruit scent. I dumped it out and was super surprised at how soft the was! And no I would not purchase this candle. It was a gift so I tried it.

    • This was a random find. I haven’t seen more from Archeology. Bummer on the Anthropology candle!

  2. I purchased the Archaeology home fragrance candle ‘Pineapple’ at the Nordstrom Rack half price from $20.00 to $10.00. Wish I had purchased more but this was a new brand for me!
Scent was great in Master Bedroom, not sure if scent would carry as well in living area. Candle burned even and well, but I did get some soot toward the end due to lower quality wick that has a tendency to flake into the candle. I gave this candle four stars due to the saturating scent and evenness of burn, burn time aprox 30 hrs, but not sure if I would purchase again due to the wick and the high soot content at the end of the candle burn time, if you don’t mind trimming the wick more than usual it was a great low price candle

  3. I love scented candles. I’ve been collecting and buying candles for
so many years now. I literally tried most of the “famous brands” they say
but nothing, nothing can ever beat your product! First time I tried it and it
really serve its purpose, my whole house smelled soooooo good, I haven’t
seen any product like yours. For people who haven’t tried! I guarantee you! it’s
worth the pay! I highly recommend this product, I hope they maintain their
quality until the end. This product deserves the highest rate as far as I’m concern
among all competitors you see around… Trust me!

      • Hi Andrea Haskins,
I just received my 3 candle set from The Wendy Williams show called Trendy Wendy. Included was the Pineapple, Bamboo and Rhubarb. I haven’t lit them yet but I will let you know as soon as I do. Thus far, the Pineapple and Bamboo are my favorite smells
