Illume Candles are known for being vibrant and trendy with a variety of innovative scents. My Oakmoss candle was no exception. The retro candle tin I burned recently is no longer carried by Illume, but the scent is still available in a variety of other products. Same earthy green color…same scent:
Tuscan cypress and oakmoss are infused with wild geranium, Japanese yuzu and Mandarin orange.
This candle was beautiful inside…
Cold sniff was rather light and deceiving for this candle. The beauty was in the burn – I smelled a sweet, earthy grassy type scent with just a hint of citrus notes. This candle scent was very soothing and relaxing. I burned it in a bathroom and thought it was perfect for the space. Scent strength was on the lighter side…I would give it a 3/5 for throw. But keeping this smaller sized candle in a small space was the key to enjoying this fragrance.
As my experience with most Illume candles, the wick does need to be frequently trimmed or the flame can get a little out of hand. I did not notice a lot of sooting with frequent maintenance. Overall, I really enjoyed this candle and scent and would like to try it in their large jar at a later time.
Do you have any experience with Illume Candles? What are your thoughts?
Happy candle burning ~
