Review Summary:

A fruity candle with tart/sweet cranberries and a very strong scent throw. The candle stars are downgraded because it is not as complex as the scent description would lead you to believe.

Frosted Cranberry is included in the White Barn Collection at Bath & Body Works. I’ve shied away from this candle before because I do not particularly care for straight cranberry scents. But this was a frosted cranberry after all. I decided to sniff this one out in a local B&BW store and I was hooked. It smelled so fruity and fresh!

The candle I bought was the three-wick jar candle. It had a dull gold lid as opposed to the usual shiny silver one…I suppose that was to make it more festive. The label shows some beautiful, red cranberries still on the bush and dusted in snow. The wax color was a deep red. The look of this candle just screamed ‘holidays’, so I can see how it would be a popular candle this time of year.

Back to the cold sniff…the sniff I fell in love with in store. It was fresh and crisp and clean. Oh and fruity! The cranberry scent hit me in the face, but not as a tart cranberry. This cranberry scent had a sweetness to it that was simply amazing. The cold scent throw was very strong.

Inspired by ripe, red cranberries dusted with fresh snow and a blend of juicy peach, raspberry and vanilla

I burned this candle in my powder room for starters. I returned 30 minutes after starting this candle and noted it already had a full wax melt pool going. And the scent? Fantastic! Very fruity and fresh. It smelled like sugared cranberries with a good mix of tart and sweet. I didn’t smell any raspberries, peach or vanilla. I did expect a bit more complex scent based on the scent description. BUT this candle scent was still great. I loved it and would certainly spring for more.bath-body-works-frosted-cranberry-candle

The candle burn was fantastic. I had big high flames initially that then tamed to medium sized flames throughout the rest of the burn. I find that scenario to be true with many of the White Barn candles. I had a deep wax melt pool and no wasted wax. The scent throw was strong – this candle did well in my powder room and in larger rooms when I moved it around.

Have you smelled Frosted Cranberry? What are your thoughts?

Happy candle burning ~

  1. I have not smelled the Bath and Body Works frosted cranberry candle. Cranberry candles aren’t my cup of tea so do not think this is a candle that I would be interested in.

    • Ah then definitely this candle wouldn’t be one you would enjoy. Thanks for checking out the review, though!

      • My all time favorite! Burning one right now. Wish they kept it in stock all year long instead of just during the holidays.

  2. Although I don’t have the this particular candle I do own the Room Spray. I absolutely love the room spray!! I think because it is a Frosted Cranberry it is much nicer to smell. Sometimes cranberry scents can have that sour or tart smell to them and I don’t really care for that note in my scents. I now Scentsy’s “Very Merry Cranberry” Has that tart sour smell that isn’t on my top 10 list. Thanks for the review!

    • I agree, Carolyn. Straight cranberry scents are not for me, but this mix did the trick.

  4. I absolutely love this candle.I have to take it easy on how long I burn it because I don’t want to run out.I just researched bbw and couldn’t find this candle.as I see its seasonal.looked on ebay and Amazon and they are going for as around $45!!! I found one for around $22 with $9 shipping.maybe I can space it out to last until the holidays when they are in stock again.I love candles but find after a few minutes of burning a lot of them are too strong and hurt my nose.even just smelling them in the store I can only smell a few and have to walk away.sensitive nose I guess.anyways I can burn this candle for an hour or more with nice problems.LOVE IT!!
