Review Summary:

My Glade 2-in-1 candle was very lightly scented and there was a large amount of wasted wax.

There was a sale on the Glade 2-in-1 candles at my local CVS Pharmacy. They were on sale buy one, get one half off. Score! A small candle at 4 ounces, but each candle is layered with 2 different, complimentary scents. One of the candles I picked up was Creamy Custard & Apple Cinnamon…mmmmm!

This candle looked awfully yummy and had great potential for a delicious combo scent to me. The scent description itself is on the top of the packaging:

Bite into a piece of homemade apple pie. Now savor the sweet, creamy vanilla custard. This warm scent fills your home with wholesome goodness.glade-2-in-1-creamy-custard-apple-cinnamon-top

I loved the look of the layers. The off white was a great contrast to the dark red. This made for a great visual!

Cold sniff didn’t reveal very much on this candle. Even after rubbing the top a bit with my finger, I didn’t get much of a vanilla smell (this was the top layer). Undaunted, I lit the candle and left the room for about 30 minutes. I came back to…nothing. I didn’t get much scent throw at all from the Creamy Custard layer. I was totally bummed! I also didn’t like the way the candle was burning, because I knew I would end up with a wax ring.

I will say once I got to the Apple Cinnamon layer, I did get a scent throw. Milder on the apple and a bit heavier on the cinnamon, this was a nice comforting scent. The throw was still light but definitely noticeable. I did try the candle in a few different areas with not much additional luck.

As suspected, I had a lot of wax left over after the burn.

Overall, I was very disappointed with this candle and this will not be a repurchase for me.

Happy candle burning ~

  1. Combo scents are disappointing at times. But I love Apple Cinnamon scent. A must have in a home.

  3. Bummer! I think I’ve tried some of their candles before, but I can’t remember (which is probably a bad sign for them)

    • Some people really seem to enjoy them. Perhaps I just haven’t found the right scent for me & my home. I’ll keep trying! 🙂
