Review Summary:

Rating Breakdown:

  • Packaging/Presentation: This was the triple wick candle with medium-sized wicks. The wax was white in color. The label showed a couple of palm trees and a gorgeous body of water at sunset. There was a slightly purplish haze to the label. Underneath the name ALOHA WAIKIKI was the secondary name, 'hulas & hibiscus.' The lid was not the typical chrome lid - it had a colorful pattern on top, which was also in purple. Very pretty candle. 4.5/5
  • Scent: Very, very floral. A sweet floral with plumeria being the predominant note. This floral was a little perfume-y, hints of perhaps a coconut base. Not quite sure, but it was very tropical and intoxicating. I've come to enjoy florals, but I think this one was a bit too floral for me. 3.5/5
  • Scent Throw: Super strong. This candle was way too much for my smallest room. It filled the larger rooms up with the ever presence of plumeria. 5/5
  • Performance: This candle gave a full wax melt pool in very little time. The flames went from nice and big to small, struggling flames just 1/3rd of the way into the candle. The flames did not drown, though. Because the flames were lower, this candle lasted longer than many of the other B&BW 3-wick candles. This candle burn was closer to 50 hours. 3/5
  • Customer Service (if applicable): No problems with this order from B&BW. 5/5
  • Overall rating: 4/5 (Technically 4.2 but rounding down because of the performance.)

Aloha Waikiki, Bath & Body Works

An esquite fusion of Plumeria petals, Tiare blossom, and a hint of sugarcane transports you to the big island. Aloha Paradise!

Candle Size: 14.5 ounces

Stated Burn Time: 25-45 hours

Where Burned: Room sizes: 6′ x 6.5′; 8′ x 9′. Large open living space.

Great For: Spring; Summer; Those who love floral scents; Beach

Comments: This review centers around the 2013 candle I purchased in this scent. There are some differences in the candle’s outside appearance this year – the lid is green rather than purple, the label is different, and the wording for the scent description is slightly different (The 2014 candle’s description: An exquisite fusion of Plumeria petals, Tiare blossoms and a hint of sugarcane.)

Would I repurchase? No, this scent was not really for me. Too floral.

Disclosures: None. I purchased this product myself.

  1. Now this is one scent I haven’t tried. I do have Caribbean Escape and Beach Cabana. I’m waiting to try these two. I normally really like Plumeria and LOVE coconut but not if it’s way to strong. It’s hard to enjoy an overpowering scent. Thanks for the review!
