Box Opening: The Bathing Garden September 13 Restock

I was a fan of The Bathing Garden from back in the day. I did not shop there often but I loved everything I got. Shopping again at TBG was always on my “To Do” list. But by the time I got around to it, this shop had become so wildly popular that Shannon had gone the route many small business owners seem to be taking these days. You have to catch the restock days at TBG if you want to snag some goodies. While I am not a fan of this method, I must say Shannon’s method is the least painful I’ve seen. The restocks are posted in a Facebook group and orders are taken for several days after the announcement. You email your order wishes based on what’s listed as available and you’ll soon get back an invoice. Not terribly convenient, but not the mad-dash-panic-rush shopping either. I really liked the melts from TBG, so I wanted to try them again after a long hiatus. Thankfully one of our forum members posted her restock information for those not privy to the Facebook annoucements. That’s how I learned of this restock and was able to grab a few clamshells.

Date ordered: September 21

Date received: October 8

Oh my…am I glad I took the plunge again! I received my order in a padded envelope and when I opened my mailbox, the aroma…oh, the aroma! I couldn’t wait to get inside and tear into these goodies. Everything was packaged so well. The clamshells were each wrapped individually with a pretty burgundy tissue paper. The clamshells themselves were so neat! You could tell there was a lot of attention to detail that went into each and every one.

I snapped these photos in a hurry, so they don’t so all the beauty of these clamshells. Hopefully it’s enough for you to get the picture! 😉

Garden Cake – Sweet Apples, butter, caramel, cake, vanilla bean, and maple syrup.  Mmmm, such a sweet, rich caramel apple scent. I can smell hints of the maple syrup on cold sniff, too. Great cold sniff and I love this one already!

Pumpkin Corn Pudding – Sweet corn bread pudding is swirled with a spiced pumpkin.  What I mostly get on cold sniff on this one is the spiced pumpkin. I think that’s because it’s the top layer of this two-layer tart. It’s a strong cold sniff. I smell the corn pudding just lightly (underneath). I can’t wait to melt this one to get the full flavor.

Painting The Roses Red – Butter Cream Frosting and Coconut Cream Pie is layered over a blend of Raspberries and Roses. This scent is so beautiful, it is hard to describe. The rose scent only comes at the very tail end of the cold sniff to me. It adds that perfect ‘pop.’ There is some sweetness and green notes in this too. Love it! Moderate cold throw.

Lemon Tea Party – The soothing scent of black tea with tart juicy lemon. I’m not as wild about this one as I thought I would be. It does smell strongly of black tea. It does mix well with the tart/sweet lemon, though. Great cold throw.

Bitten – Fresh lime and orange are highlighted by sparkling fizzy notes leading to a blend of berry and cherry. This is soooo delicious. It smells like a fizzy pop citrus soda. Very good cold throw.

Lady of The Fall – Vanilla bean noel and coconut flakes over caramel, cake bites, and crimson pear. I’m smelling mostly creamy coconut and VBN on cold sniff. Since this is a two layer tart, I’m hoping to get the other elements when burning.

Wolfsbane Bites – Rich holiday cookies, butter, and Moroccan mint. This smells like a cookie version of a Peppermint Patty. The mint is so creamy and delicious. Mmmm, mmm, good! Great cold throw.

Haunted Hayride – Tart granny smith apples, caramel, cinnamon, pumpkin, and hints of hay. This smells deliciously of caramel apples to me. The Granny Smith variety. I don’t smell any pumpkin or cinnamon. There’s a background sweet note which might be the hay. I’m not sure. But overall, this is a really nice scent. Great scent throw.

I’m glad I got the chance to order from TBG again. While I may find some scents above I love, I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get them again. That part is a total bummer. But I’m loving this order of melts so far and can’t wait to share more with our readers!

Happy candle burning ~

  1. Lemon tea party sounds yummy. Yes, it’s a bummer when you have to catch them when they are selling. but i’m glad they are making lots of sales at least 🙂

    • Lemon Tea Party is a unique kind of scent. I thought it might be like London Calling from B&BW, but the black tea makes this one very different.

  2. I ordered from TBG last year (before she changed her ordering model) and was happy with what I got. The clams are so pretty and it’s not hard to clean up.

  3. I have not ordered from her before. The painting the roses red fragrance sounds like an interesting blend and the rose is really pretty.

    • These wax melts are mini works of art. She takes great care with her products, that’s for sure.
