Bath & Body Works – It Happened One Night Candle Collection

I am always seeing new candle collections at Bath & Body Works and it just keeps drawing me in. That’s exactly what happened with the It Happened One Night candle collection…cute, cute, cute candles in some interesting scent choices. I had to have them all!

These candles are very festive and ready for the holiday party season. The candles display some confetti all around and a ribbon tie and elegant gift label that has the scent name on the glass jar. The wax colors are vibrant. The lids are festive as well – they are textured and gold in color, as opposed to the usual silver, shiny flat lids. There are seven scents in the collection.

Cranberry Pear Bellini: Bubbly and delicious – a bright blend of sparkling cranberry, sweet pear nectar and luscious blackcurrant. Cheers! Mmmm – nice! This is fresh and fruity and it does seem a little bubbly. I smell mostly the black currant and cranberry scents, blended well for a sweet-tart mix. This has a moderately strong scent throw.

Peach Bellini: A shimmering holiday twist on a classic blend of white peach, tart blackcurrant and a splash of juicy orange. I love this scent! It reminds me of peach schnapps. The cold scent throw is pretty light, though.

Spiced Apple Toddy: Celebrate with friends and enjoy this winter cocktail made from warming apple brandy, spiced plum and tart cranberry. This is an apple cinnamon type of scent with some heavier notes in it to make it a bit more complex. The scent throw is moderately strong.

Hot Buttered Rum: An indulgent blend of buttered rum, vanilla and a hint of smooth caramel that’s perfect for your winter party. Another great scent but with a light cold throw. This is a buttery caramel scent that is not too sweet. I’m hoping this throws well when lit.

Champagne Toast: Pop, clink and sparkle with an effervescent blend of Champagne, juicy nectarine and blackcurrant. Mmmm – another great scent. It reminds me a LOT of Cranberry Pear Bellini on cold sniff. It is a little more “bubbly” and is a fresh, fruity mix. Nice change of pace from the heavy cinnamons and pumpkins often found this time of year. The scent throw is moderately strong on cold sniff.

Party Dress: An unforgettable blend of orchid petals, billowing white peony and soft jasmine that’s fitting for any celebration. This is such a pretty scent! It’s a soft, sweet floral with a moderate scent throw. This floral mix is not too heady so I think I’m going to enjoy it.

Black Tie: Your perfect escort to any holiday party – green sage, sandalwood and Tonka bean. Mmmm…if I have a dinner date at Christmas, this is what I want him to smell like. This reminds me of a men’s cologne, but it is soft and “feathery.” Love it! It has a moderate scent throw.

Overall, I’m excited to try this collection. The scents seem a bit on the milder side, but we all know cold sniff can be deceiving. In any case, these candles certainly liven up the place!

Have you tried any of these candles yet? What are your thoughts?

Happy candle burning ~

  1. I loooove Peach Bellini…assuming it is the same scent that comes out in the spring/summer. If so, when it is lit, it is super strong and very fruity.

  3. I’m hitting the mall this weekend and you can be sure I’m heading to B&BW. I love all their candles and hand soaps. I want to smell Cranberry Pear Bellini and Party Dress. Both scent descriptions sound like my kind of scents. Do you know if they have room sprays in these scents? Yup I’m addicted to all B&BW products!!

  4. I sniffed these in the store the other day. Champagne Toast was not as strong as I was hoping. The other fragrances smell really upscale to me!

    • This line is quite a bit different from the spring/summer and winter/fall fragrances I’ve been buying. I’m hoping for great performances when I get around to burning them!
