What It Claims: “Our body scrubs are a delicious and rejuvenating treat for every bath. Our scrubs are made from natural cane sugar, known to produce glycolic acid – one of the natural alpha hydroxy acids that exfoliates the skin. Anti-aging technology helps rejuvenate, soften, and brighten the skin.”
What It Did: Definitely a delicious and rejuvenating treat – I looked forward to using this every day! The scrub gently exfoliated, and I could tell a difference after using it. My skin was softer and smoother after use. I’m not sure about the anti-aging technology, but otherwise this scrub did deliver as promised.
Comments: I was surprised by the quality of this sugar scrub. Many times I’ve found with prize-inside products, more attention is focused on the prize than the actual product. Not so here – this was a great sugar scrub! Not the best I’ve ever used, but certainly high enough quality to be satisfied with the product and the prize. This scrub was gentle enough for everyday use, which was perfect because you can get to your jewelry prize sooner!
FUN FACT: Jewelry hidden in JewelScent products range in value from $10-7500!
Would I repurchase? Yes
- Packaging/Presentation: This sugar scrub was in a round, squat, white plastic container with a gold, screw-top lid. The label on front clearly displayed the company and scent names. The scrub itself was white in color. The bottom label had the ingredients included (which I did not find on the website). The bottom of the jar also had a sticker indicating the size of the jewelry piece inside. The jewelry prize was encased in foil and also protected by a plastic ziplock baggie. The ring had a pretty pink central stone – see pics below. There was a label on the ring that had the ring size on one side and a code on the other. I was able to input the code into the appraiser on the JewelScent Candles website to determine that my ring was appraised at $10.
- Scent: I was in love with this scent – it smelled more like warm sugar cookies to me, with lots of vanilla added. I wanted to scoop some out and eat it!
- Scent Strength: The scent was moderately strong.
- Performance: This was a mild sugar scrub – the crystals were fine and the scrub itself was like a soft dough. It gently scrubbed while cleansing, and it left my skin feeling soft and smooth. I was able to wash it away easily and could still smell the product on my skin after showering. This scrub lasted a long while, too, since a little went a long way. This helped take the sting out of the overall cost. The jewelry was in the very bottom of the container, protected as mentioned above.
