Let’s face it. Shopping for candles can get expensive. While some may consider candles a luxury item, we fragrance addicts consider them a basic necessity of life. But who says you can’t save a pretty penny while shopping for those basic necessities? Here are some of our favorite places to go when looking for a candle bargain.
1. The Lampstand
The Lampstand is a great place for some candle bargains on several different brands. They started out with a focus on fragrance oil lamps and there are plenty of lamps and fragrance oils to find. But they have expanded to include several candle brands including WoodWick, Root Candles, Warm Glow and Swan Creek to name a few. There are often good prices to be found and if you sign up for their newsletter, you can be alerted to their frequent sales. The Bargain Basement has some really great deals and there is free shipping over $65.
2. eBay
You’ve heard it before…you can find just about anything on eBay. That includes candles! If you search around you can find people who are unloading their stash at a great deal. You can find partially used candles, but you might also score some brand new ones at a great price. Try various search words to get different results – candles, Yankee candles, unscented candles, soy candles, etc. Sometimes prices are jacked up, so you do have to do a bit of searching but sometimes you can score big!
3. Candles Off Main
Now you might be wondering why I’m pointing you in the direction of a luxury candle site, but stick with me for a moment. Candles Off Main has a number of candle brands – most that would be considered luxury brands. And yes, that means a higher price tag. But the great part is they have an awesome sale section you can stalk, I mean, shop. And they often run specials on specific brands or introductory products. Sign up for the newsletter to be alerted to their storewide sales – they don’t happen that often, but they are nice. Free shipping on orders over $69 helps, too.
4. Retail Me Not
While not a single candle shop, Retail Me Not has scores of coupons and discounts listed for various companies and products. Type in ‘candles’ in the search box and watch all the discount coupons that pop up. Then click through and shop to your heart’s content. You can even find coupons for places you might not consider buying candles. For example, as of today, they have a coupon for candles at Pottery Barn – 20% off and free shipping. Go check it out!
5. Candlefind.com Forum
We might be a little biased, but we think our Candlefind.com forum is a great place to find out about some candle deals and bargains. We post about big and small discounts for candles and for bath/body goods, too. To see the sales, you have to sign up for the forum and become an active member. It’s easy to do, so come join us and see!
There you have it. Now you can shop til you drop!
Happy candle burning ~
